Missions Statement

The mission of the Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) is to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ by preaching, praying and teaching the word of God in our communities and around the world.

We strive to accomplish our mission through regular scheduled, vibrant, loving, prayer-filled, and Bible-centered worship. We also accomplish our mission through the administration of baptism and the Lord’s Supper; by the development of spiritual maturity in believers through preaching, discipleship, service and fellowship. Also, by the consistent practice of personal and corporate evangelism; by the establishment of other assemblies both locally and on the foreign field; and by the earnest defense of the faith. (Acts 1:8; 2:37-47; 4:12; Eph. 4:11-16; 2 Pet. 3:18; Jude 3)

Vision Statement

It is the vision of the Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) to be a leader in providing services necessary to fulfill our scriptural vision recorded in Luke 4:18-19:”The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”

What We Believe

The Bible is the inspired Word of God; a revelation from God to man, and the only infallible written rule of faith and conduct, superior to conscience and reason, but is not contrary to reason. (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

We believe that there is only one true God who has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent One, embodying the principles of relationship and association, i.e., as Father in Creation, Son in Redemption, and as the Holy Ghost in the Church. (Deut. 6:4, Isa. 43:10-11; Mark 12:29; 1 Timothy 3:16).

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth and sinless life, in His vicarious death and atoning blood; in His bodily resurrection, and His ascension, and His Second Coming to earth to rule in righteousness.

We believe in repentance to be the product of godly sorrow for one’s sins as stressed throughout the scriptures (2 Cor. 7:10). It leads to forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38; 3:19: 5:32), and produces worthy fruits (Matt. 3:8; Luke 3:8).

We practice water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38; 8:16; 10:44-48; 19:5; Romans 6:3-4; Galatians 3:27; and Col. 3:17).

We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost. That sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and this should be earnestly pursued by the believer walking in total obedience to the Word of God (1 Cor. 1:2; Hebrews 2:11; 10:10; 2 Thes. 2:13; 1 Peter 1:2).

In partaking of the Lord’s Supper, Melchizedek, Priest of the Most High God, gave the first communion to Abraham consisting of Bread and Wine (Gen. 14:18). Water and Grape juice are modern substitutes. No specific time or frequency is given but the scripture teaches, “As often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord’s death till He comes,” (1 Cor. 11:26). (See also Matt. 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:17-20; 1 Cor. 11:23-32). In the Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic), Inc. the Lord’s Supper is usually observed by us every first Sunday of the month.

We partake in the washing of each other’s feet after the Lord’s Supper (St. John 13:3-17).

We believe in the giving of tithes and offerings. Tithe is the tenth of one’s earnings. An offering is given of one’s free will in honor and as a sacrifice to the Lord’s work, and may exceed the amount given for tithes.

We believe in the blessed hope for the saints, the rapture of the Church at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the one to everlasting life with Jesus Christ, the other unto everlasting damnation with the devil and his angels.

We believe in the Millennium reign of Christ, when there shall be peace on the earth for one thousand years. This period may be called the first resurrection of the Kingdom Age (Rev. 20:1)

We believe in the Great White Throne Judgement, Second Resurrection, or Final Judgement, when the devil and his angels, and those who serve him will be judged for all eternity. This will usher in God’s endless reign of peace. There will be a new heaven and a new earth (Rev. 21).
